MetMail: There’s always something happening at The Met

The Met & Kids Can Cook Team-up For a Good Cause

The Metropolitan Club is proud to partner with Kids Can Cook, which provides inner city students from Boston middle schools with an innovative and educational after-school experience that teaches important life skills through the art and science of cooking. Chef Jeff Fournier has opened his kitchen to six spectacular students from Kids Can Cook. For three weeks, Jeff will show his young proteges the joys and rewards of the life of a chef. At the end of the program, the students will make their professional debut at a special event at The Metropolitan Club!

“Whether I am in a classroom or dining room, my goal is to expose people to the possibilities of food,” says Jeff. “I would like to show kids that being a chef is one of the most interesting and exciting ways of life you could choose.”

This Valentine’s Day, The Metropolitan Club’s Chef Jeff Fournier is honoring love with his decadent three-course prix fix menu, Lobster & Chocolate & Love, Oh My! The menu features lobster with chocolate-dipped claws and sauterne poached lobster tail with olive oil, new potatoes and golden crostini, as well as smoked sturgeon with Osetra caviar crème fraîche and sunchoke and preserved lemon salad. For dessert, don't miss The Now… and Later, which features a treat to share when you’re alone with your sweetheart. The Now: chocolate caramel crème brûleé with sandwich cookies and black and white cake with white chocolate frosting and chocolate glaze. The Later: a box of truffles to take home and make your evening even sweeter!

You and your love can also drink your fill of each other over a cocktail-for-two. Like Water for Chocolate is served tableside, and is a blend of coffee and hazelnut liqueur with Mexican hot chocolate topped with pink Chantilly made from muddled rose petals.

Call soon for your reservations as space is very limited.
